DEDUCTIONS OPT-IN/OUT
Joan has been working the last 6 years as a detective, and has undergone a lot of training to notice things about people. She has a good grasp of people's mood and whether or not they're trying to hide something, and most often than not blurts out observations about people. So please let me know if you want to play this up or opt out of it entirely, and let me know in the comments anything you would like for me to observe about your character from a starting point!

Whenever Joan has a chance to see Stephen in his own clothing, she will note that he dresses either in brand new, snappy street fashion that was purchased on his behalf by someone with a lot more money and interest in his appearance than he possesses himself, or that he occasionally still wears what basically looks like renaissance festival garb. The latter is much more lived-in. He's going gray at the temples but had been dying his hair; it's becoming more obvious now that he hasn't had a chance in a little while.

Stephen looks perpetually tired, because he is. He has a lot of gastronomical issues from overuse of magic, his body is full of extradimensional parasites, and basically everything hurts. But he's fine, really. His hands are covered in scars; he's had a lot of corrective surgery following a major accident. That was some years ago and it's all healed as well as it's ever going to heal, but the nerve damage remains. It's worse than usual at Fort Harmony, where he's lost all access to magic and can't channel energy through his hands to steady them (if/when they get out and see each other again, she may notice an improvement).

He's a man with a lot of skill and a lot of pride. He hasn't ever fully let go of his past career as a neurosurgeon; he still insists that people call him 'doctor' and he still prides himself on thinking like a surgeon and applying those skills to his current career in magic. He has great aptitude for what he does, but it often comes with an unwillingness to accept that sometimes he needs help.

Deduce away! Wanda will hate it. However, she's a pretty good actress if she's trying to hide how she really feels about something.

Joan in particular will notice that the scar on her right palm is really weird and doesn't have any apparent medical cause. The closest analogy is a lightning scar, but it's the wrong color (white) and it doesn't follow her blood vessels, it just seems to be branching out from the center.

Also if she gets pissed off, her eyes definitely tend to flicker red here more often than they do in canon.

I'm down for Joan deducing things from Winnie! The most obvious thing is that a lot of her emotional reactions to things seem slightly off-kilter and not flowing as naturally as a normal person's would.

Like there's always a split second pause before she reacts to things like she has to think and process what the right way to respond is. She doesn't actually have much in the way of emotions herself so everything's sort of crafted/based on what she thinks the 'right' way is.

Winnie won't mind if Joan calls her out much on it because she has a lot of excuses, but she's also free to see through the fact they're just excuses.
