DEDUCTIONS OPT-IN/OUT
Joan has been working the last 6 years as a detective, and has undergone a lot of training to notice things about people. She has a good grasp of people's mood and whether or not they're trying to hide something, and most often than not blurts out observations about people.
So please let me know if you want to play this up or opt out of it entirely, and let me know in the comments anything you would like for me to observe about your character from a starting point!

Stephen looks perpetually tired, because he is. He has a lot of gastronomical issues from overuse of magic, his body is full of extradimensional parasites, and basically everything hurts. But he's fine, really. His hands are covered in scars; he's had a lot of corrective surgery following a major accident. That was some years ago and it's all healed as well as it's ever going to heal, but the nerve damage remains. It's worse than usual at Fort Harmony, where he's lost all access to magic and can't channel energy through his hands to steady them (if/when they get out and see each other again, she may notice an improvement).
He's a man with a lot of skill and a lot of pride. He hasn't ever fully let go of his past career as a neurosurgeon; he still insists that people call him 'doctor' and he still prides himself on thinking like a surgeon and applying those skills to his current career in magic. He has great aptitude for what he does, but it often comes with an unwillingness to accept that sometimes he needs help.
